Introduction

There are three categories of jobs in FreeRealms. They are Combat, Crafting, and Freestyle. In order to be able to do a job, you must unlock it first, usually by talking to a trainer. Your job, and the level that you reach in it, will affect your ability to use certain mini-games, equipment, and abilities. You can try any job you want, and switch back and forth between them instantaneously. The more you use a skill, the more levels you gain and the more new abilities you will gain.

Combat Jobs

Combat Job are jobs that allow you to battle wandering monsters or fight your way through dungeons using a certain set of weapons, abilities, and/or spells. When you enter into a battle or dungeon you have a choice to change jobs to any of the combat jobs you have unlocked. Once you choose, you must remain in that job for the rest of the encounter. Below is a very brief explanation of each Combat job. Clicking on the job title will take you to a more detailed page for that job.

Archer

long-distance fighter; uses bow and arrows to hit targets from a distance

Brawler

up-close fighter; uses clubs and hammers to smash targets at close range

Medic

a healer; uses natural ingredients and technology to heal friends and can also attack enemies

Ninja

a stealthy fighter; uses blades and vanishing ability to make sneak attacks on enemies

Warrior

an all-around tough guy; depends on heavy armor to take large amounts of damage and heavy swords and axes to cut through enemies

Wizard

a spell-caster; uses spells to summon elemental forces such as rain, wind, and lightning.

Crafting Jobs

Crafting Jobs allow you to gather useful material and make items to use in the game or sell to other players. The following is a brief description of each of the three crafting type jobs. Click on the job title to see a more detailed page for that job.

Blacksmith

a weapon and tool maker; uses natural materials and metal ore to forge weapons and other useful items for use or sale in the game

Chef

a harvester and creator of food items; gathers natural materials and combines them to create useful food items for use or sale in the game

Miner

a gatherer; uses skills to obtain metals and gems, also crafts metal bars for use by blacksmiths.

Freestyle Jobs

Freestyle Jobs are those that don't fit into the other two categories. They have less rigid rules then the other professions and may be useful in unexpected ways. The only way to know is to try them out! Below is just a brief description of each; click the job title to view a more detailed page for that job.

Unlocking Jobs

Unlocking a job allows you to switch in and out of that job at will. It may also allow you to play certain job-specific mini-games and quests, and use special tools, clothing, and equipment.

You can unlock most jobs by simply approaching a trainer for that job and having a conversation. Trainers can be found in the starter areas. Some jobs require completing a special quest, having a certain level in another job, or in some cases membership.
